Consumer Praises and Comments for Quick & Healthy Volume II

Reviewer: Jan from Atlanta, GA
I've had both of these cookbooks for several years now. They are pretty ragged because they've been used so much! These cookbooks have made our lives so much easier. The recipes are easy to prepare, don't involve too many steps or ingredients, and use "normal" ingredients that are easy to keep on hand.

I have converted all of the recipes to Weight Watcher Points. The table in back of the book with all of the nutrient information made this really easy to do. I cook from the Quick & Healthy books several times a week. They are my cooking Bibles.

Brenda J. Ponichtera is not only a registered dietitian, she knows how to cook in a way that's both flavorful and healthy. Not only helpful for dieters, this book contains necessary nutrient exchanges and helpful information for diabetics. These down-to-kitchen books can help anyone learn to cook in a healthy way. The sections on determining your ideal weight and calorie intake, as well as the nutrient analysis tables in the back are indispensable.

Thank you for your cookbooks! My husband and I lost 110 lbs. between us last year. We really like the food, the ingredients are easy to get, and we don’t have to spend all day cooking. I can calculate the point values (for Weight Watchers) easily with the info you provide.

As a busy mother of a two year old and a three month old, I use this cookbook four or five times a week. These recipes are simple and tasty. Overall, this is a great tool to have in the kitchen.

I have both this book and the first one. I found them browsing in a book store, paid full cover price, and I'm not sorry. They are excellent!!! My husband hasn't even noticed he's eating healthier - and this is someone who always picks the worst kinds of food to eat.

Reviewer: Suzy from Kennewick, WA
I love this book! I am recently married, and one of my jobs has been to reform my husband's HORRIBLE eating habits. The recipes consistently turn out great, so I can try a new one with confidence. My husband thinks he is getting away with something because the food tastes too good to be healthy.

I adore this book and the first one as well. Meals are quick and I usually have enough ingredients on hand to make SOMETHING in the book. Meals are good, basic weekday meals that my husband (butter-cheese man) finds palatable.

Reviewer: A reader from Pella, IA
This is the cookbook I wish I had written. It is practical, doable, using ingredients I can purchase in my small town. I purchased or checked out many cookbooks when I learned I needed to change our eating habits - these are the best by far. We have liked every recipe we have tried. I now cook almost exclusively from the two books.

Reviewer: Judy from Santa Monica, CA
This cookbook is just what it claims to be and the menu suggestions are a great help in providing a complete meal. Flavor is never sacrificed even when being conscious of dietary needs. I'm buying it for friends!

Reviewer: Wendy from Sublimity, OR
I have so many cookbooks that I look at once or twice and never use. This is not one of those books! I received my book about two weeks ago and have already prepared 5 of the recipes. They were all fast and easy to prepare with ingredients that I already keep in my home. Best of all...My husband and kids loved them, they didn't even notice that they were eating healthy foods.

Though this was originally bought as an impulse item in the grocery, I now do all my menu planning from it. It has turned me from a kitchen-clutz, to a planned cook. Most items can go fridge to table in 30 minutes or less and are EASY to prepare.

I loved this book!! It's a must have book for those short on time but love food. Not only were they really quick and easy but tasty to boot. I also learned some new tricks on breading and sauces.

Reviewer: A reader from Vancouver, Washington
If you can only buy one, this is the one. I have used this book to help me learn new eating behaviors. I do not like to cook, yet I find the recipes in this book easy to prepare. The ingredients are not exotic -- they are staples that you have on hand and you can make a recipe at a moments notice. I have recommended this book to all my friends, and they also rave about it. This is cooking for real people.

One of the best I’ve bought. I buy many cookbooks. This one I bought by just browsing. I've used it many times in the last few weeks and haven't cooked anything my family hasn't liked.

Reviewer: Jackie Baer from ivillage.com
With 190 new low-fat recipes, 5 weekly menus with corresponding grocery lists, and complete nutrition information for each and every recipe, this is a good place to start realizing your goal of healthy eating without spending precious time planning and adjusting recipes. I like the layout and the book is very user-friendly. One recipe per page, easy to read type, good format with the ingredients listed in bold print makes it easy to follow and there is ample room to make your own notes in the margins. Low-fat and family friendly at the same time makes Quick & Healthy Volume II definitely worth a look!

I am now the proud owner of both Quick and Healthy books and can't say enough about them. I live with them. Each book is unique and worth having. You never know how little tricks can alter the taste of the dish until you've tried these recipes.

Reviewer: Melissa from Melrose Park, IL
Thank you - I love your books - they are the BEST! I ALWAYS recommend them.

Reviewer: Kristen from Portland, OR
This book and the second volume were two of the first books I purchased when I first decided to make cooking healthy part of my daily life. They are very simple, and for a person with practically no kitchen experience, much less experience with healthy cooking, these books may make a decent primer.
